4. Cyberpunk 2077

Arguably the biggest remaining release of the generation - and easily the most hyped followup from a single developer in quite some time - Cyberpunk 2077 is finally dropping at the close of the year.

The sort of production that's sure to eclipse all other cyberpunk video games to this point, I don't think any of us truly recognise just how much effort has been put in. CDPR are basing Cyberpunk on the Cyberpunk 2020 role-playing book of the same name - one that's a true pen n' paper experience with millions of permutations when it comes to character builds, combat scenarios and on-the-fly changes.

To even begin to replicate the customisation inherent to the Cyberpunk book is a feat in itself, but to do so with great combat, dialogue, world-building and interaction will be something else.

Here's to CDPR paying off what has now been a staggering seven years of development.
