12 Killer PS4 Features We're Still Waiting For

5. PlayStation Home

This might not be on the priority lists of many, but for me, PlayStation Home was a fantastic idea that Sony imply never took full advantage of. On the PS3, PS Home was a Second Life-esque virtual world, a hub in which players could create their own avatars and hang out with other random players. Much of the fun was in soaking up the surprisingly awesome graphics of the world, playing games of bowling with others, and so on. Still, the idea never really took off with players, and was more a novelty that was quickly forgotten. But it's a great idea if Sony can just find the way to keep gamers coming back. With the variety of social features that the PS4 has over the PS3, there's a wealth of potential to exploit, and I imagine adding prizes for various things, like a year's free PSN subscription for whoever scores the most bowling strikes per month, would certainly incentivise play. It's not the be all and end all, but now that Sony have such a strong social infrastructure, they should best take full advantage of it.
