Seconding the onslaught of PlayStation classics making a comeback alongside Crash Bandicoot, WipeOut's Omega Collection also rolls together three awesome, pioneering games into one package.

WipeOut HD, Wipeout HD Fury and WipeOut 2048 are all getting the fully reworked treatment, apparently being optimised to run like melted butter on PS4 Pro. Playing like a kart racer at lightspeed and with far less traction, WipeOut found a pretty dedicated audience across the early 2000s with a mix of stupid-fast lap times and a kickass futuristic feel.

It's a shame the series went away at all in retrospect, but judging by the positive reception to its announcement and how Sony are pulling out all the stops to dominate 2017, this is yet another home run that - in theory - can't fail.
