3. Tekken 7

Once upon a time, the Tekken franchise could do little wrong, but in recent years, its relevance has declined, and Tekken 7 is only the latest, sad indication of that fact.

The game leaves a sour taste from the outset, what with its painfully malnourished story mode, which is laughably piecemeal, especially when compared to the full-fat story mode of, say, Injustice 2.

The core gameplay is fine enough, but where's the sense of fun and personality that defined the second and third game in the series in particular? The franchise has lost its groove, yet even considering how low-effort the game feels, it still snagged a bafflingly respectable 82 Metascore.
