12 Problems Nobody Wants To Admit About GTA
10. Other Open-Worlds Are Leaving It Behind
There’s no
denying that Grand Theft Auto has always brought players an extensive city
playground to cause havoc in. Since the very first game, simply driving from
objective to objective (or even ignoring objectives entirely) has been appealing.
Quite time consuming as well, with the size of the world.
Grand Theft Auto III ushered in a brave new world of new-fangled 3D, which has been expanded upon since 2001 as technology has allowed. All of this culminated in the latest title’s Los Santos, an enormous open world that was truly impressive in 2013.
Again, though, open-world adventures have truly been pushing the envelope lately. Assassin’s Creed Origins/Odyssey present worlds of truly stunning scale, as does Rockstar’s own Red Dead Redemption 2.
Though the current-gen edition of the game looks fantastic (it’ll be exciting to see the next-gen one in action too), it’s not the incredible technical feat it once was.
