4. Heavy Rain
The Game: Quantic Dream's "interactive drama" revolves around Ethan Mars and the kidnapping of his son at the hands of the ruthless Origami Killer, with the player making various narrative decisions which have a permanent, irreversible effect on the four main characters. The Movie: Unique Features and Warner Bros. will be teaming up to produce Heavy Rain, which will be written by acclaimed screenwriter David Milch (Deadwood), while no director is attached at the moment. Why It's Ridiculous: Because Heavy Rain is basically an interactive movie already, so what's the point making an actual film too? The experience stands tall as it is, as an absorbing video game and essentially a 12-hour, "choose your own story" movie, and given how indebted to the cinematic medium it clearly is, adapting it back to Hollywood could cause it to be labeled as derivative.
