E.Y.E. may not be a very old game, but it's been pushed into obscurity probably by having a lot in common with Deus Ex, with some of its more innovative ideas being outweighed by bugs, hollow levels and a horrible UI.

In this cyberpunk action-RPG, you jump into the world and have pretty much free reign about whether to develop your character as a fighter, stealthy type, and so on. The amount of choice you have in levelling up is so vast however, that it can be overwhelming. The game is also misbalanced and unintuitive, so putting points into the wrong stats early on could leave you at a disadvantage, or even a dead end later on.

But there's something unique about E.Y.E's murky atmosphere, and credible about its ambition in the amount of swords, skills, and guns you can use, letting you combine them to see which ones work best together. It has some truly spectacular moments, but you'll spend too much of your time gritting your teeth in frustration in between them.
