12 Things You Didn't Know About Batman: Arkham Asylum

3. It Was Supposed To Be Raining

This one actually took me by surprise, because when you picture Arkham Asylum, you probably see Batman moodily gliding around the titular madhouse while the rain beats down around him. However, outside of cutscenes, there actually is no rain in the original release.

That's made even weirder because there are a few signs in the game itself that it is indeed raining outside. You can hear thunder and lightning while in certain buildings, and some of the NPCs can even be seen wearing raincoats with the hoods up. And yet, there isn't a drop in sight.

This has never actually been commented on by the devs themselves, but it seems obvious that the intention was to have this feature implemented. The fact that it does show up in the remastered version only seems to validate that line of thinking even more.
