12 Upcoming Video Game Movies That Could Destroy Tomb Raider

7. Call Of Duty

It's honestly pretty surprising that, in the decade-plus since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare completely changed the game for the FPS genre, there still hasn't been a movie adaptation of the mammoth franchise.

Granted, 2012's fetishistic, beautifully shot war movie Act of Valour basically felt like a Call of Duty film, but it's ultimately the brand name that will put butts in seats, regardless of this film's potential to feel like another generic, over-stylised war movie (considering how the games themselves are clearly influenced by cinema).

Why is Call of Duty even on this list, then? Talented Italian director Stefano Sollima (the Gomorrah TV series and the upcoming Sicario: Day of the Soldado) is at the helm, and given his knack for tackling gritty material - not to mention how surprisingly great Sicario 2 looks - it's easy to be somewhat optimistic about this one.

Sure, it'll be PG-13 and probably pander to the hoo-rah demographic, but at least it should be one of the most stylish video game movies to date.
