12 Video Game Bosses That Were A Total Letdown
9. Ganondorf - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
It seems blasphemous to criticise Ocarina of Time, since it's adored by its fanbase. With that said, the final battle against Ganondorf is a teeny-weeny bit disappointing.
Don't get me wrong. The Great King of Evil is built up flawlessly. The face-off itself, however, is a tennis match. After Ganondorf hurls an energy ball at Link, the Hylian hero must slash it back at him, stunning him in the process.
Now, there's nothing wrong with this concept.
However, the mute hero already had this fight earlier against Phantom Ganon. Also, that encounter was more challenging, since the phantom kept moving around, making it incredibly difficult to aim at him. The real Ganondorf is far easier, since he remains stationary while he attacks.
But that's not all. After being seemingly defeated, the mighty warlock turns into the monstrous Ganon. As before, the presentation here gets top marks.
But the fight itself is bafflingly simple. To damage Ganon, the beast must be struck in the tail. Although there are several ways to do this, the simplest technique is to roll between his legs. Rather than relying on an elaborate strategy, Link can destroy the greatest threat Hyrule has ever known by tumbling around the floor.
Our hero, ladies and gentlemen!
