12 Video Game Bosses That Were A Total Letdown

8. King Allant - Demon's Souls

As is custom from FromSoftware titles, Demon's Souls is brutally difficult from the very beginning. Even after repeated playthroughs, foes like Flamelurker, Armorspider, and Maneater are sure to trip up veterans.

Then there's the main villain. Old King Allant delivers an almighty challenge, launching a rapid-fire assault on our hero. Allant is so fast, there's little time to heal or retaliate. Allant must be defeated quickly, since he drains the hero's soul levels, removing their stats progress.

When Allant is finally defeated, it's still not over. It turns out this enemy was a fake, and the real Allant lies ahead.

Upon encountering the true final boss, players will wonder if they have fallen victim to some practical joke. Not only does Allant resemble a gooey blob, he barely puts up a fight. He just flops around like a fish, allowing our hero to walk right up to him and stab him to death. No buffs needed. No strategies required. Just a few good jabs and the "battle" is over.

It's probably the only time in Soulsborne history where players wished the boss was harder.
