6. LeChuck (Monkey Island Series)

The Monkey Island series is one of the funniest of all time and protagonist Guybrush Threepwood (Mighty Pirate) is a massive reason why. He's the kind of idiot that you like to hang around with just to see what sort of trouble he's going to cause next. Over the course of the Monkey Island series, Guybrush is chained to an anchor and thrown into the sea; turned into a child in a demon's amusement park; and he even gets to pilot a giant stone monkey in Monkey Kombat. The number of escapes he makes due to sheer dumb luck must be some kind of record. Surely a villainous ghost pirate should be able to defeat him then? LeChuck is always depicted as an intelligent villain with powerful voodoo spells at his disposal...so why does he always get defeated by Guybrush? LeChuck would probably stand a better chance if he didn't keep bragging about his weaknesses (voodoo and... root beer?) continuously. Also, for a ruthless pirate, he sure likes to keep Guybrush alive in the hopes that he won't come back and defeat him. Hey, it nearly worked in Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge...
