11. Shadow Of The Beast - PS4

Shadow of the Beast was a platformer for the Amiga, which is best remembered for being... not particularly memorable. Seriously, you can win the whole game by moving to the other side of the screen and pressing the punch button anytime a baddie approaches.

As far as platformers go, it was as bland as they get.

For some reason, Heavy Spectrum Entertainment Labs and XDev were psyched to turn this underwhelming title into a hack-and-slash reboot. As unwise as this idea sounds, there was potential. I mean, it's not like they could make a game worse than its predecessor, right?

But somehow, the developers found a way. Every time you perform an attack move, you are placed in an un-cancellable animation, leaving you vulnerable from all other directions. This mechanic becomes so frustrating, your best bet is to just punch everything you see, meaning the most annoying mechanic from the original is the best method of winning the reboot.

Considering some gamers bought this PS4 title just so they could play the original (which came as a bonus,) the developers must've known how badly they screwed up.
