The Sims has a very wide appeal, which is why it's become one of the most successful gaming franchises ever. It's the perfect game for control freaks, allowing them to rule over every aspect of their Sims lives. The truly great thing about The Sims is that you can play it exactly how you want to. If you want all of your Sims to be happy, then you can do that by building them nice houses and taking care of them. If you want to put one in a room and then remove the doors just to watch them slowly go mad and die, you can do that too! There are 14 years of Sims games to choose from, but The Sims 3 and its many expansions gets our seal of approval as it has the most depth and offers terrific value for money. The latest game (The Sims 4) isn't bad, but it's lacking a lot of the features found in later entries. There are a lot less ways to kill your creations in The Sims 4, much to the disappointment of sadists everywhere.
