E3 2018 was a good time to be a Kingdom Hearts fan. Not only did the upcoming third entry get a meaty showing at Square Enix's conference, but also premiered brand new trailers at both Microsoft and Sony's showcases as well. For a game that stayed in the shadows for so many years, it finally seems as if Square is ready to show off Kingdom Hearts in all its Disneyfied glory, an act that should be a big relief to fans worried about the long-awaited sequel.

The game's wide-spread exposure, as well as Square's willingness to discuss it, seems to imply that the studio have incredibly high hopes for the sequel, especially seen as they're not strangers to keeping progress on their work radio silent if it's not in the best shape (*cough* Final Fantasy 7 remake *cough*).

With a ton of new worlds announced, numerous iconic characters detailed and a significant amount of gameplay mechanics highlighted, it finally seeming as though Kingdom Hearts 3 is actually going to happen.

Better yet, it seems that despite the rough development cycle, it's the game that Square really wanted to deliver. Hopefully, the studio's confidence is a strong sign that fans will get the game they've been dreaming about for over a decade in January next year.
