13 Iconic Video Games That Were Sold With Hilariously Terrible Box Art

5. The Orange Box

Valve

Fortunately for you, Valve, the Half-Life name alone was enough to carry The Orange Box to success, because the box it - as well as Team Fortress 2 and Portal - was encased in sure as hell couldn't have driven sales.

Sure, the neon-orange eyesore encouraged shoppers to stop and investigate the item offending their visual senses, but what good is getting a consumer through the door if they don't actually drop the cash? Therein lies The Orange Box's problem.

Scour it as much as you like, there's no 'Not to be sold separately' notice to be found on The Orange Box's outer shell, but that's exactly what it appears to be: a pack-in removed from its bundle and left on a shelf, never to be sold.
