The Announcement: Almost a decade after Half-Life 2: Episode Two first came out, Valve finally grants fans the ultimate mercy of confirming that, indeed, Half-Life 3 is in development. Maybe they even show off some actual gameplay. Imagine that.
How Likely Is It?: Half-Life 3 is going to show up on this annual list until Valve finally decides to release the damn thing, but considering that they're basically just in the business of distributing games now, there's probably not much incentive to divert resources away from other things, even if Half-Life 3's release would indeed net Valve a pretty penny.
Moreover, Valve doesn't need to use E3 as a platform, especially with the rather low-key nature of the new PC Gaming Show sidebar. If it happens, they'll probably just announce it off their own back. You'll secretly be hoping for it, but it ain't happening. -5/10
