14 Awesome-Sounding Video Game Sequels That Will Never Happen
4. Dead Space 4
The Dead Space series released three entries between 2008 and 2013, but since then word's gone incredibly quiet on the franchise, and it seems more likely that it'll get the reboot treatment at some point in the future.
It's a damn shame, because there's certainly a fan thirst for a fourth Dead Space game continuing Isaac Clarke's adventures, albeit one that rectifies the third game's many mistakes. Speaking of which...
Why It Will Never Happen: Dead Space 3 effectively killed the franchise, with its attempt to broaden the series as even more action-centric and casual-friendly ironically resulting in by far the worst sales of the series.
EA as such binned the franchise, and though they did recently comment on the possibility of making a fourth game in the future, it was about as non-committal a "maybe...maybe not" as they come.
If a fourth game excluded the micro-transaction nonsense of the third and went back to the more horror-centric route of the first two games, it could win fan favour back, but most AAA franchises live and die by micro-transactions nowadays, so why on Earth would they want to leave them out? For integrity's sake? Pish.
