14 Forgotten Video Game Franchises That Desperately Need Sequels

9. Heavy Rain

The world of video games needs guys like David Cage, the experimental visionary genius that brought you the 'too crazy for their own good' likes of Fahrenheit and Beyond: Two Souls. For Heavy Rain though, all his kooky quick-time event triggered cutscenes and introspective character development came together to form one of the best murder mysteries in gaming history. Is the voice work all over the place, and the final rug-pull one of the most divisive in the medium? Sure, but the world of Heavy Rain is so intrinsically explorable and interactable, you could easily do another title with the same characters and continue their stories (providing they made it out alive in your first save). For some, the way this wrapped up left things wide open anyway, meaning it could be a direct sequel - and considering how terribly overblown all of Beyond: Two Souls was, this would mark a return to the one title Cage has done that's received the most praise both critically and culturally. Oh, and "JAY-SON" (it had to be done).
