14 Beloved Video Games That Criminally Never Got Sequels

6. Future Cop: L.A.P.D

Titanfall seemed to scream "We know what you want! Mechs right?!" all the way from afar until it was on store shelves, although where Respawn Entertainment's shooter fell flat on its face only to whimper "Mechs...right??" PS1 classic Future Cop knew how to treat them right. Not that Titanfall doesn't have the right idea when it comes to dominating on the battlefield when you step into your titular armoured suit, but the realisation that matches were more fun when not having your movement restricted was a franchise-killer if there ever was one. Why mention all this about Titanfall? Because if there's one thing that's yet to be done justice, it's piloting a mech and nailing that sense of raining down all manner of big-budget hellfire on your opponents. Part of what made L.A.P.D such a fantastic title was alternating between this full-on 'battle mode' and a faster 'Pursuit' mode that saw your mech fold in on itself as you turned into something akin to a weaponised Tron Light Cycle. In short it hurtled along at a fantastic pace, and if the industry is intent on pushing mechanised warfare after this year's COD: Advanced Warfare, going third person with your own mini-Transformer would be perfect.
