14 Beloved Video Games That Criminally Never Got Sequels
11. Wild 9
Having multiple genres in one game is rarely done in the bigger titles of 2014 - mostly because (we assume) it's a far safer bet to practice and perfect one thing people love, rather than dabble in a few other areas and scuffing them up. Wild 9 was a title that wasn't afraid whatsoever, and in combining some fairly solid platforming mechanics with some slightly on-rails driving sections and a killer soundtrack, this is one of those titles many of us played in our childhoods - yet gets relegated to "Ohhh that game!" response today. Utilising a whip that could become imbued with a variety of elemental powers, combat was satisfyingly tactile, allowing you to thwack enemies off any number of surfaces - including mashing them up in metallic grinders - before also partaking in other Crash Bandicoot-style boss fights and a story that propelled everything along nicely.
