14 Beloved Video Games That Criminally Never Got Sequels
9. Silent Bomber
Another relatively unknown PS1 classic, Silent Bomber was an arcadey explode-a-thon that took the foundation of what Bomberman laid out i.e. placing your weaponry behind you as you moved - and ran with it, portraying lightning-fast gameplay that saw you n sprinting from one enemy to the next, a huge trail of technicolour explosions in your wake. It played like a total dream too, with the only thing getting in the way of your mass-carnage being some noticeable slowdown whenever things would get a bit too hectic, but being as they only came when every single thing was exploding at once, it looked more like an intentional slo-mo effect. In 2014 titles like these would fit more into the 'indie' bracket than anything approaching mass-budget, but with other sci-fi shooters like Velocity 2X recently going down very well on PS4, there's definitely a market for smaller, more focussed titles with perfected mechanics that are just downright fun to play - without worrying about too much character motivation or purpose.
