14 Beloved Video Games That Criminally Never Got Sequels
8. Legend Of Dragoon
To some the above screen will be enough to produce a wad of cash and a instant feeling of needing to get stuck in. Just look at all those stats, characters and items... sweet, sweet JRPG goodness. Occasionally touted as 'The PS1's Most Underrated Game', Legend of Dragoon is a hidden gem of Smaug-guarded proportions, but for those who sought it out the epically-shot tale was oozing character and flair through every pore. Although it was spread across four discs and with in-game cutscenes that would give Hideo Kojima a run for his money, Dragoon sadly came right near the end of the Playstation's life-cycle, sandwiched in between Final Fantasy's VIII and IX, thereby all but killing it in the eyes of most players. It didn't help that visually both this and the FF series looked nigh-on identical either, although for the most part until Western developers would start shaking the formula, it's easy to say this about many early titles in the genre. Still, those who played found a suitably expansive and involving adventure with a combat system that asked you actually get involved more than just issuing multiple attacks and standing by. If you're one of those people who ever since FF X ditched its turn-based mechanics has been clamouring for a return to the traditional way, Dragoon does exist on the Playstation Store - just be prepared for one hell of a graphical downgrade.
