14 Best SNES Games You Might Have Missed
5. TMNT: Turtles In Time
The second TMNT game on this list, and arguably the best Turtles game to date (except there is no argument, because it is), Turtles in Time took the successful formula of the original arcade outing and created an awesome time travel adventure.
Playing as one of the amphibious four, the turtles are on a mission to stop Shredder and Krang from messing things up in the Technodrome. But this quickly goes awry as our heroes in a half shell are thrown through different periods in time in a quest to get back to the present.
The prehistoric era, the future, even the age of the gold rush and pirates are stages to bust through on your way back home, each capped off by a boss fight. Baxter Stockman, Rat King, Tokka and Rahzar, and more all stand in the turtles' way to the next battle.
Limited to two players on the console versions, it didn't detract from any of the fun in this faithful arcade recreation. Unfortunately, the Reshelled HD version for Xbox didn't capture the magic and has since fallen by the wayside.
