14 Controversial Video Game Moments That Pissed Off The Fanboys

2. The War To Play Battlefield 4

Yet another broken game courtesy of EA in association with DICE. Battlefield 4 was arguably the most anticipated action game of the year 2013 and one sure to give even Activision's upcoming heavyweight, Call Of Duty: Ghosts the competition its franchise deserved -- both games were intended to launch alongside the Xbox One and PS4 that same year. Problem was the former didn't function right out of the box. On launch, Battlefield 4 came under attack from an army of bugs, some leading to crashes across systems. While DICE launched several patches, none seemed to make the game fully playable again. It was so bad that DICE had to suspend the development of future games that shared Battlefield 4's Frostbite 3 engine. Soon after, both EA and DICE came under their own fire from multiple law firms over the failure to deliver a working product, misleading consumers with information on the product's reliability and the loss experienced by investors. Despite feedback from the beta launched earlier that year, DICE couldn't find the time to remove all the bugs, possibly due to the demand to launch alongside new hardware. Whether that was true or not, EA and DICE have missed one hell of an opportunity with Battlefield 4.
