9. Great Game, Horrible Ending...That's Mass Effect 3 For You!
Not every game has a happy ending, but even the bad ones are worth the x amount of hours we put in to reach them. However, that wasn't the case for EA and Bioware's Mass Effect 3, a game that was savaged by the masses for making them sit through 30 hours for three big birdies in the face in the form of the endings. For the sake of not spoiling the ending, let's just say that the players are in for one rude awakening in the final act when they realize that all choices are all inconsequential to the ending as opposed to previous games. What we are left with instead is a clusterf**k consisting of plot holes, inconsistencies, contradictions, and the total lack of closure per ending. And all of it hidden behind some deceptive advertising, courtesy of EA and Bioware. Although Bioware tried to undo the damage with an Extended Cut version that modified the endings to mend plot holes and provide more clarification, it wasn't enough to remove those birdies from our minds. Hence, Mass Effect 3 had earned itself the title of "The Best Game With The Worse Video Game Ending," and fans agree.
