11. Super Bomberman R (62)

It hurts to admit it, but Super Bomberman R on the Nintendo Switch absolutely stinks. This is a great property that's a fantastic fit for the Switch on paper, especially when it pertains to multiplayer mayhem, but this low-fi, slapdash effort falls far short of its awesome potential.

Where to begin? The single-player "story" mode is boring and full of obnoxious cut-scenes, the online multiplayer is cursed by revolting input lag, and as many critics couldn't help noting, the game launching with a full AAA price tag did it absolutely no favours where review scores were concerned.

Even though the online multiplayer is still an abject disaster after numerous patches, it's staggering that the game managed to land "mixed or average" reviews. Anything over 40 for this one just seems ridiculous, and one suspects critics went a little easy on it because it was a Switch launch title and the glow of a new platform hadn't yet worn off.
