14 Most Underrated Open-World Games Of The Last 10 Years

7. Prototype

A contemporary to Sony's first Infamous game in the late 2000s, Prototype was less concerned with characters and story than its competitor and more focused on letting players cause as much chaos as possible in its city sandbox.

Imbuing you with a whole host of supernatural abilities that aid you in your quest to wreck as many fools as possible, Activision's open world game didn't amount to much more than pure mindless fun - but when mindless fun is executed as well as it was in Prototype it hardly mattered that the title fell short in other areas.

And although many people never got around to picking it up, the game's sequel isn't half bad either. If you can nab yourself the remastered combo on the cheap (but not at the ridiculous price Activision currently has it up for) then these two power trips will more than satisfy any urges for unadulterated super-powered havoc you might be having.
