14 Simple Things That Could Ruin The Biggest Upcoming Video Games
3. It's A Rushed Mess - Final Fantasy VII Remake
At first glance, it might seem ridiculous to call Square Enix's upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake a "rushed" project, given that it was announced way back at E3 2015.
However, reports last year claimed that Square Enix decided to restart the game from scratch back in 2017 after receiving unsatisfactory results from collaborating dev team CyberConnect 2. The long-awaited remake will now be developed internally by the publisher.
But of course, Square Enix is no stranger to announcing their games way too early and releasing them after years of toiled development, yet with potentially three years of work flushed away, could they end up rushing the final product to market?
After all, FF7 Remake will be a commercial sure thing regardless of its quality: nostalgia is a powerful tool, and millions of gamers simply want to play the damn thing.
Plus, with the game being split into three episodes, Square Enix may wish to release the first episode prematurely in order to see a return on the project before completing the latter two parts.
Square Enix's recent AAA offerings have been pretty rough around the edges for the most part, but with a title as ambitious and anticipated as this, the pressure will be greater than ever.
As such, it wouldn't be remotely surprising if a remake of one of the most beloved video games of all time is a cobbled together disappointment.
