12. Prototype 3

Of all the great rivalries in gaming - Sonic vs. Mario, Crash vs. Spyro, Jak & Daxter vs. Ratchet & Clank, last-generation's Infamous vs. Prototype boutfizzled out entirely when the latter's sequel was a glorified DLC pack.

It was a huge shame, as before then, Radical Entertainment had thrown everything including the kitchen sink into creating the most purely anarchic escapist fantasy yet. Ludicrously powerful abilities saw you tossing streets of cars at enemies, you could clone yourself to stealthier blend in with guards, climb buildings, glide, drive vehicles, steal them, morph your limbs into all sorts of weapons... it went on and on.

Prototype wasa real purpose-less extravaganza of explosions and torn limbs scattering in all directions, whereaspart twowas pretty much a re-release of the first thataddedzero new features -but it shouldn't stop the franchise dead.

With tie-in comics and a super cool premise at its core, more Prototype on better hardware would go down a treat.
