14 Superhero Video Game Sequels We Desperately Need
11. Marvel:Ultimate Alliance 3
Have you gone back and played Ultimate Alliance 2 recently? It's brilliant, and eery when you consider just how well it would perform if released today. From following the Civil War comic storyline to a tee, asking whether you want to sign up with Cap or Iron Man (and then having individual levels and bosses play out) and letting you play as all your favourite charactersat once, it's an outstanding product of pure fan service.
Developers Raven Software were on one hell of a role back then too, birthing not only the Ultimate Alliance games, but also X-Men: Legends, taking just enough of Diablo's top-down RPG formula and injecting it with the world's most successful super heroes. Then Raven got swallowed up by Call of Duty development cycles, and we've not heard from them in a Marvel-based context since.
Rumours abound that an Ultimate Alliance 3 is actually in the works right this minute- and even MUA2 was put together by Vicarious Visions, so it is possible to do the franchise justice with a different developer.Look to E3 for a surprise announcement.
