14 Video Game Franchises That Will Never Die
3. Call Of Duty
The loudest shooter of them all, Call of Duty is an unwavering juggernaut in the world of interactive entertainment. For whatever reason, people just can't seem to get enough of the series.
At this point, it's become the archetype by which all other military shooters are judged, and despite the series' bland gameplay and unwavering reliance on uninteractive set-pieces and cutscenes, that's highly unlikely to change any time soon.
It's just too popular; it has too much name recognition. It may not be the best game on the market, or even the most competent FPS, but it's reliable. Everyone recognises the name, and everyone knows exactly what they're getting into.
It's like Burger King or McDonalds; it's trash, and there are plenty of alternatives that will leave you feeling more satisfied, but sometimes you just want something easy, something that comes with a side of Coca-Cola and won't judge you like all those other restaurants.
