14 Video Games With Underwear Themed Secrets & Easter Eggs

6. Ghost And Goblins: Arthur Doesn't Wear Heart Boxers

If you've ever played the outrageously difficult Ghosts and Goblins on the Nintendo Entertainment System then odds are that you've seen Arthur, the hero of the game, running around in his white and red underpants. Most of us understand why that is, but we'll explain the mechanics of the game to those who might not have played it twenty years ago. You start the game off completely decked out in a suit of armor, but if you get hit even once your character is reduced to only wearing his skibbies. Then you die. There's also an even crazier "Boxers" Mode where you start off in your underwear and fight with only one hit point of damage. Capcom really didn't play around back then. Due to the restrictive technology of the time and the simplistic looking official art, most fans of the game who saw Arthur's red and white boxers had assumed for years that Arthur was wearing underwear with hearts printed on them. That was until Capcom officially shattered their perception of reality by revealing in Marvel vs Capcom 3 that ever since the beginning of the Ghosts and Goblins series, Arthur has worn boxers with strawberries on them. The company even released a pair of replica boxers with Arthur's signature strawberry design on them to commemorate the occasion. I can personally confirm they are extremely comfy, too.
