2. Capra Demon - Dark Souls
In some social circles (or the Dark Souls forums), it's blasphemous to speak ill of any design element of such a legendary game. It's 'perfect' and 'fair' they'll scream, but I say thee nay - there's one boss who's just poorly placed, and designed only to bring misery. Enter the Capra Demon, a hulking brute with twin machetes who you'll fight in area about the size of a shoebox. His swings tend to span the entire playing field thanks to the arc of them being so vast, his attack strength is enough to deplete your stamina in a couple of hits, and you've got two attack dogs chewing on your ankles the whole time. To win, many of us took to hopping up the stairs and onto a specific ledge where his attacks just couldn't reach, but if his area and animations were truly fair in the first place, we wouldn't have to.
