15 Advanced Tips To Survive In Sea Of Thieves
2. Place A Chest On Your Capstan To Prevent Being Anchored
In any naval combat scenario, the last thing you want is to be boarded and anchored by another player. Putting your ship to a complete stop, you’ll be an easy target for the other ship while you and your crew work to raise the anchor again.
And when your ship is taking on water and there’s an enemy onboard doing whatever they can to keep that anchor down, it should be clear why this situation isn't ideal.
There is a preventative measure you can take that will make lowering your anchor harder for boarders, and that’s by strategically placing some chests on top of your capstan. By doing this, the option to lower the anchor will be masked by the chests. Instead of interacting with your anchor, the boarder is more likely to interact with the loot instead, which will give your crew more time to react.
Ideally, you’ll want to use some low-level loot for this in the off chance the other crew escapes with it. An extra caveat is that this will also make it harder for your crew to lower the anchor, too.
