Whether it’s a parrot, monkey, cat, or dog, these cuddly companions will add some extra personality to your next session.

But there is a downside to having a pet tag along with you on the seas. Once brought aboard, your pet will loyally follow you as you sail and explore, which can easily give away your position to other pirates. This is especially true if you’re trying to sneak aboard another player’s ship or hide on an island. If you see or hear a pet, their owner isn’t far behind.

This doesn’t mean that you should never have a pet with you. If you find yourself in a situation which calls for no pets, you can easily dismiss your companion via the My Crew menu. We promise they won't be mad at you.
