15 Advanced Tips To Survive In Sea Of Thieves
10. Sword Lunging Is An Essential Technique
A sword is a pirate’s best friend, especially in Sea Of Thieves. Not only will it aid you well in combat situations against skeletons and other pirates, it can also help you traverse the world easier if you know the right technique.
If you hold down the attack button with a sword equipped your pirate will do a lunge attack. However, if you block first before performing a lunge and jump at the right moment, your pirate will leap a lot further than your standard jump. You’ll even glide effortlessly through water, saving you a lot of time swimming.
Allowing you to travel a lot further faster, sword jumping can make boarding other ships easier as well as grant you access to hard-to-reach locations.
To pull this move off, the goal is to jump just before the actual lunge; a sound cue lets you know when this is about to happen. The timing is a little tricky at first, but with a little practice and muscle memory you’ll be lunging like a pro in no time.
As a bonus tip: you can cancel your sword lunge if you can grab onto an interactable object like a canon or sails.
