15 Best Batman Video Games - Ranked
12. Batman: The Brave And The Bold
One of the absolute best of those 1989-influenced side-scrollers is the Wii-only, The Brave and The Bold; a fantastically campy, self-aware romp through Bat/DC-fiction, with a tone like what the 1960s TV show would feel like if commissioned today.
Also based on the 2008 animated series of the same name, gameplay-wise this was very much in the vein of the 1989, 1990 and 1992 side-scrolling Batman games, designed to let anyone pick up and play as fast as possible.
On top of a more popular Wii version was the DS incarnation that actually featured a different set of 'tag in' characters such as Green Lantern, Black Canary and Green Arrow, all of which were available to help out with some awesome-looking specials. It's the art style that really sold this, highlighting a take on the character that was very much 1966-influenced, but with all the trimmings of a modern production.
