15 Best RPGs Of The Decade
4. The Outer Worlds
What's this, an Obsidian triple bill in the same feature?! Oh snap!
But yes, it had to be done, as The Outer Worlds has proven that Obsidian has the stones to rub shoulders with the giants of the RPG world (well, except for Alpha Protocol). Taking everything they learnt from New Vegas, bugs and all, they've channeled that into this barnstormer of a game.
And what a time to do it, too. Fallout 4 was four years ago, whilst Fallout '76 has gone from digging its own grave to asking players to help fill it in for them. The void was there for a decent space/future RPG to fill the boots of Fallout and Mass Effect, which is has done and is currently striding about in.
Sure, some might say that it's too early to call it a "game of the decade", but with this one soon to be ending, what better way to send it off. The Outer Worlds may be stuck with the "it's like Fallout but..." moniker, but the only thing that's going to end that sentence is praise.
