15 Best RPGs Of The Decade
1. The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt
Another series that started off a pebble before becoming the landslide it is today, the Witcher series is a testament to perseverance. Rightly so, as The Wild Hunt is one if, if not the best, example of narrative in an open world RPG.
Many an accolade was showered on the game upon release, but it only went from strength to strength within its first year. Largely in part to its additional DLC campaigns, which were more than simple endgame fan service, but fully fledged stories that only bolstered the already massive world that Geralt of Rivia inhabits.
I won't wax lyrical about the story of the main game, nor will I spoil the two additional campaigns. But I will simply say: go and play them. If the thought of sinking that many hours into something like this puts you off, don't be afraid to drop the difficulty down for the sake of story.
It proved that games could have that depth on a broader scale, that RPG's weren't just an Eastern export with bananas anime plots, or point and clicks like Warcraft.
