How do you put into words what purely anarchic, ludicrously-fun gameplay feels like? Is it through mentioning how the game's soundtrack is easily the best there's been in decades, if not all time? Perhaps the amazing story that takes the first game's narrative of a popular homicidal maniac and imagines what a real world media would do with such a figure? Is it in the level design that demands you crank up your proficiency control-wise until you're switching between melee weapons and firearms without so much as thinking about it? It's all those things and so much more - as when Hotline Miami's core gameplay loop is firing on all cylinders, in the moment it's absolutely unbeatable. Honestly, check out this sample of one of the more crazier songs on the soundtrack; something that drops when you attempt to take on an entire building of enemy gang members. Feel that? Imagine it backing one the downright coolest looking twin-stick shooters there's been in years. It's some of the finest and purest gameplay you'll experience in years. Phenomenal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qf6-xx2fLa8
