Billed as the Xbox One's must have killer app, in the run up to the console's release and even post-release, Microsoft relied heavily on the new game from Respawn entertainment, a studio headed by the guys behind Modern Warfare 1 and 2, to shift the lions share of their new console. But while the game itself didn't quite go down as the monumental hit everyone expected (mostly due to the title's lack of longevity), Respawn's multiplayer first person shooter was, and still is, an exceptional release. Boasting some of the most satisfying and kinetic gameplay of this generation, Titanfall's core shooting and traversal just felt amazing. From the exceptional movement to the balanced implementation of mechs, the futuristic shooter created a brand new form of online gameplay that could have exploded to Call of Duty levels of player engagement had the title included slightly more content.
