It's nothing new that Early Access games are big-sellers: even back in 2015, half of Steam's best-selling titles weren't finished or officially released.

Even so, though, did anyone expect the already-legendary PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds to sell 5 million copies in just four months, especially as it's still only available on PC?

The game has benefited hugely from streamers giving it an incredible amount of attention, but even so, it's staggering to see an incomplete (and honestly, horribly optimised) game selling numbers that some more conventionally-released titles would absolutely kill to have.

That's not a knock on Early Access at all, but it's a testament to the power of streamer culture, and just how much people love these Battle Royale games.
