15 Criminally Underrated PS4 & Xbox One Games You Must Play

13. Killer Instinct

One of the launch games that coincided with the release of the Xbox One, Killer Instinct had a rather rough reception when it was first unveiled. The announcement of the cult franchise's revival took the internet by storm, and the fan reaction to Microsoft's unveiling was seen as nothing but a win for the publisher.

However the general feeling quickly turned sour once it was revealed that series-long developers Rare weren't returning to the project, and even worse, the title was going to adopt a free to play model.

By the time the game actually came out though, players admittedly warmed up to the reboot - especially when they discovered the arena brawler was actually pretty decent.

Sadly, the fallout from the first reveal still permeates throughout public opinion of this Xbox exclusive game and its a shame, because if only given a chance, Killer Instinct could have formed one of the most competitive and lively communities on Xbox Live.
