Metal Gear has always been home to wide array of wacky and comedic antics. From hidden soldiers who you find missing their pants or the jarring toilet humour which recurs throughout most of the games in the series, Kojima’s franchise has never been one to shy away from the more juvenile aspect of video games.

However, the “Snake Beater” achievement found in the Metal Gear Solid HD collection just about takes the cake for the weirdest, most disturbing moment in MGS history – and for all the wrong reasons.

In the second game in the franchise, a common tactic to escape guards is to hide in the many lockers scattered around the title's map. However, to make the insides of these metallic boxes more visually appealing, the game included posters of bikini-clad women across the walls of a select few.

The achievement is triggered by staring at these posters and zooming in on them in first person mode until something… well, until something plain weird happens. The resulting call from Otacon is still one of the most stressfully-delivered easter eggs ever found in a video game.
