15 Facts About Gaming In 2015 That’ll Blow Your Mind

7. 155 Million Americans Play Video Games

So just how widespread is the industry these days? Well, in addition to another study from Mediapost (via digitaltimes) back in 2011 noting 180 million Americans were watching TV and movies regularly, this ESA report states gaming is thundering behind to catch up with a respectable 155 million.

The arcade boom might have been an early 90s thing, but with games now available everywhere from smartphones to iPods, home consoles to PC and everything in between, it seems we're all getting stuck in. As with many of these overarching facts, remember the idea of 'playing video games' can apply to everything from banging a goal home in Rocket League to tapping like a gibbon on Clash of Clans.

Either way it's more eyes on the medium, and providing the developers and producers of the world can make the most of it, that will only bring good things.
