15 Famous Video Game Tattoos (And What They Actually Mean)

6. Jason Brody - Far Cry 3

Like the Nameless One, this annoying backpacker bro who turns into a somewhat less annoying killing machine also has the mysterious gift of converting tattoos into powers. What starts off as a meek little tribal armband grows throughout the game as Jason picks up lethal abilities, eventually becoming a half-sleeve tattoo, known as the 'tatau' by the Rakyat people of Far Cry 3's island. The Aztec-looking tat is made up of varying images of herons, sharks and spiders, each of which symbolises a set of abilities that slowly turn Jason into a tribal warrior. But the more murderous abilities Jason gains through the tatau the more he loses his grip on reality. Sure, it represents Jason's growth into a man, but also his descent into a killer. For Jason to earn final piece of the tatau, he pretty much needs to go through a psychedelic orgy of drugs, sex and murder, which is way more than any of us bargain for when getting inked up.
