3. The Human Reaper - Mass Effect 2

Mass Effect 2 is easily one of the greatest games of all time - which is why it's a damn, immortal shame, that the final battle against the human-reaper hybrid thing is so out of place. In a world hand-crafted by Bioware's most potent mythologists, everything from how ammunition in guns is used, to who and why everyone is fighting in the first place is fleshed out to an incredible level of detail.

For this reveal though, we're supposed to accept the fact that the Collectors somehow idolise humankind enough to funnel thousands of species' remains into a ginormous reaper-baby.

Naturally it comes to life and you have to take it down, but you'll spend more time just going "Erm... WHAT?!" than worrying on how to do so.
