15 Games That MUST Be On The PlayStation Classic

10. Gran Turismo

Ps1 Classic Feat
Sony

Gran Turismo wasn't necessarily a fun game, but then it never professed to be. After all, it was the "real driving simulator", and real driving is boring as f*ck.

What Gran Turismo was, was the finest digital facsimile of racing ever seen in an industry absolutely overflowing with them. The level of detail on any of the 140 (140!) vehicles was unparalleled - even if they're impervious to damage per licensing agreements - and none of the ten million racers which came before it had managed to so finely reproduce the sensation, if not the thrill, of driving.

Undoubtedly aided by its photorealistic graphics, over 10 million PlayStation owners paid for the privilege of sitting through a string of arduous license tests - pushing Gran Turismo to the top of the console's all-time sales chart.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
