14. Master Chief Halo Series
A different kind of Spartan now, but Chief is still deserving of a place in the list. Halo is one of those aforementioned series that transports you to other beautiful worlds that only so far exist in the realms of science fiction. Not only do we get to visit these places, but we do so wearing the helmet of THE badass super-soldier space marine. Fighting in epic off-world battles against hordes of Covenant, the Flood and the Prometheans made players feel invincible in a way that other shooters of the generation didn't (except on Legendary difficulty, which was just ridiculous, or maybe I'm just a noob...). Many games have tried the super soldier and space marine formulas since and many have done it well, but Chief will always be the one who did it the best in my opinion and brought the sci-fi FPS to the masses, paving the way for epic looking next-gen experiences like Destiny. Although with Halo being the main Xbox flagship franchise, it's pretty much a given that Master Chief's adventures will carry on well into next-gen and beyond.
High Point For This Character: Opinions vary as to Chief's finest moment throughout his long career, but escaping the plummeting wreckage of Forward Unto Dawn was a particular highlight of the series.
